Design

The device comes in six different colors, which are shown in the image above. They all have a sleek aluminum body with the back plate being black, giving it a sleek and subtle appearance. The device is very short, with it only being just over 7cm tall. You can fit the entire thing in just one closed hand, making it very comfortable to hold while vaping it.

The device has a pulsing RGB light on both sides, it breathes from green to blue to red when taking a hit. The color the lights show first when you start vaping, indicate the battery percentage.

Pods and coils

This was my first time using a device that used the G pods/coils, and I have to admit: I was a little scared about it. I'd always heard a lot of mixed opinions about it. My experience however was very good; I was really pleasantly surprised. The flavor from these coils is good. Better than a lot of pod systems out there. The airflow control on these pods is accurate. Something you don’t

see on the outside of the device, but really makes a huge difference when vaping it.

I really love that you can replace the coil, instead of having to replace the entire pod. I tend to prefer this, cause in most cases it’s cheaper, but especially because it has less of a bad impact on the environment.

Performance

I really love that Uwell made the battery bigger for this new Caliburn line. I always loved vaping caliburns, but my biggest reason not to was because one device wouldn’t get me through a full day. This device does just that.

The device vibrates when I put the pod into the device, but not when I take it out. While performing both of these actions, the RGB lights on the side light up in the color representing the battery leve (green = 100% - 60%, blue = 60% - 30% and red = 30% and below).

To me the device is probably strictly an MTL and with the 0.8 ohm pod maybe also an RDL device. Definitely not meant to be a DTL device, more targeted to that tighter draw.

I didn’t experience major leaking, just a tiny bit that would cause the pod to have a little bit of liquid on the sides and bottom sometimes. Because it was so little, it didn’t really bother me that much. It didn’t impact my vaping experience in a bad way.

Pros

  • Bigger battery than previous caliburns

  • Top fill

  • Good flavour

  • Airflow adjustment

  • Replaceable coils

  • RGB lights on the sides

  • Comfortable mouthpiece

  • Haptic feedback (vibration)

  • Quick charge

  • Very compact

  • Autodraw

Cons

  • A little bit of leaking here and there

Verdict

I found the GZ2 to be a really good pod system. I’d definitely recommend it as a device. Its design is cool, it’s very small, comfortable to hold, carries a relatively large battery and it’s super easy to use. The fact that it’s compatible with all G coils seems to make sure that you will always be able to find coils that fit for the device, or at least for a very long time. The battery keeps it going for about a day and despite the little bit of leaking there was every once in a while, that really didn’t impact the overall vaping experience. In my opinion, this is definitely a good choice as a budget-friendly starter device.

Another big thanks to Healthcabin.net for sending me this device and a big thanks to you reading this for making it to the end of this review!
